Christmas In Venice by Joanne Walsh

 Let it snow…?

Wasn’t she supposed to dream of a white Christmas? Right now, Ashlynne wishes the blizzards, ice and fog that have left her stranded in Venice would melt away. She’s facing a dreary holiday stuck at the airport—and she’s also run into her ex-husband.Lorenzo di Grechi insists Ashlynne stay with him at his sumptuous palazzo apartment. He’s also promising her Christmas Venetian-style: eating, drinking, and visiting the seasonal markets and musical concerts that make the city so enchanting at this time of year.
She thought she’d moved on: laid the ghosts of their marriage which had ended so sadly and badly to rest, along with how passionately she’d loved him. But the sexual attraction between them is still as potent as ever, and he seems to have changed for the better, forcing her to question her belief that he’d cheated on her at a time when she’d needed him most.

Is this just some sort of Christmas magic at work? Or a real chance to forgive and rediscover her love for Lorenzo

Christmas In Venice was one of the most touching Christmas novellas that I’ve read.

When snowstorm strands Ashlynne in Venice, she finds herself accepting her ex-husband’s invitation to share a Venetian Christmas with him in the home they once shared together.

While the two share Christmas, they start uncovering why their marriage unraveled.  Even though Lorenzo claims he’s a changed man, the past is still too raw for Ashlynne.

She must decide if she wants to keep nursing old wounds or start fresh with her ex-husband.

I loved Christmas In Venice. Not only did Joanne Walsh write a tender Christmas romance, she brought Venice to life.

I was drawn to Lorenzo. I could see how hard he was trying to show Ashlynne he changed. I could also see how much he loved her and wanted her back. While Lorenzo is a wealthy and prominent man, he is a self-made man who never had the best of childhoods. Because of the way he was raised, he never really knew how to love Ashlynne or let her in when they were married.

Now, that she’s back in his life, he wants to keep her.

Ashlynne lost a child and that was what started the great divide between her and Lorenzo. While she can see that he’s changed, she not sure that it’s enough to matter. I could feel the attraction and love she still held for Lorenzo but I could also see that her pain was so strong she was having trouble seeing past it.
I could not put my Kindle down and ended up reading this novella in an hour. The pacing was brilliant but as I read the eARC, there were a few typos so I am hoping those were dealt with.

Overall, Christmas In Venice was truly touching. The chemistry between the characters sizzled. This novella should be on everyone’s Christmas reading list.
This was my first time reading a novel by Joanne Walsh and I loved Christmas In Venice so much I purchased a copy of The Unexpected Bride.

Sounds like another good one. I like second chance romances.
